Radical Trackdays

Both the SR3 and the SR4 were designed with one eye on the racing market and the other on the burgeoning trackday scene. Trackdays are big business in the UK and US. The rest of the world is also waking up to this phenomenon.

Straight "out of the box", the SR3 became the Trackday car to own, being the fastest, safest and cheapest car to run. Car magazine, Evo magazine and CCC voted the SR3 the 'Trackday Year of the Year' in 2003, while the SR4 followed up this success by becoming the Evo magazine’s Trackday Car of the Year in 2004. For those who want the ultimate performance the SR8 is also available as a trackday car and of course it completed a sub-seven minute lap of the Nordschleife Nürburgring in trackday specification riding on road legal tyres.

For 2006 Radical will be at all Evoactive trackdays as they will run on the Fridays of each Great and British Motorsport Festival. The Evoactive events will be run in sessions to allow drivers with similar experience levels to share the track together. There will be extra tuition available for novice circuit drivers from some of the most highly qualified instructors in the UK, making these events available to all, regardless of ability. All trackday drivers will receive free weekend race tickets, so they will be able to stay on and watch all the Dunlop Radical Enduro and Biduro races as well as benefiting from Dunlop hospitality and free teas and coffees at Café Dunlop.

EvoActive manager, Roger Green said: “It’s fantastic to be able to build on our relationship with Dunlop and once again bring something new to the trackday scene. These Fridays will be so much more than a traditional trackday, where you get nothing more than the track time itself. EvoActive events will be competitively priced action-packed days out with passenger rides, Dunlop hospitality, off-track activities, a tyre fitting service and free weekend race tickets. And all that is in addition to the quality track time, top-level instruction and specialist novice days that we have built our reputation on.”

The Great and British Dunlop Motorsport Festivals are backed by a major marketing programme to broaden the appeal of national motorsport and introduce new spectators to the sport. Four of the UK’s biggest racing championships will compete at each event; the John Cooper Mini Challenge, the Avo Ginetta Championship, the Radical Biduro championship and the Radical Enduro championship, all of which is backed up by the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC).There will be comprehensive satellite TV coverage of each round, pre-event publicity nationally and locally, plus plenty off-track activities for the whole family become involved in. These include motorshows, car club displays and general public lapping sessions.
